Efek Iradiasi Gamma Co-60 dan Ultraviolet terhadap Karakteristik dan Kemampuan Pelarutan Fosfat dan Kalium Aspergillus costaricaensis dan Staphylococcus pasteuri

Radiasi gamma Co-60 dan ultraviolet berpotensi untuk meningkatkan kemampuan mikroba dalam melarutkan fosfat dan kalium. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh radiasi gamma Co-60 dan ultraviolet terhadap karakteristik serta indeks kelarutan fosfat dan kalium Aspergillus costaricaensis dan Staphylococcus pasteuri. Tahap penelitian terdiri dari iradiasi gamma Co-60 (dosis 0; 5; dan 10 kGy) dan ultraviolet (lama penyinaran 0; 1; dan 5 jam). Hasil menunjukkan bahwa iradiasi gamma Co-60 dan ultraviolet menyebabkan perubahan karakteristik pada mutan A. costaricaensis dan mutan S. pasteuri, meliputi kecepatan pertumbuhan, jumlah koloni, ukuran, warna, dan bentuk koloni. Menariknya, perlakuan ultraviolet tidak mengakibatkan perubahan karakteristik koloni bila dibandingkan dengan induknya. Indeks pelarutan fosfat dan kalium mutan A. costaricaensis masing-masing berkisar 2,06–2,12 dan 2,15–2,23. Sementara itu, mutan S. pasteuri menunjukkan indeks pelarutan fosfat 2,22–2,50 dan kalium 2,06–2,33.
